     THE YEAR OF MINISTRY

      2008 - 2009

Year of Ministry 2008-2009 "Each one should use whatever gift he
has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its
various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very
words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God
provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To
Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."
1 Peter 4:10-11

Olive Branch Baptist Church has accepted the mandate given by our Lord and has continuously endeavored to reach from within our homes to around the world taking the Good News wherever we go.

Some of our local mission projects include: MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) who meet twice a month; Youth Events such as Impact Virginia and AWANA and our summer Vacation Bible School.  Outreach to nursing homes and adult homes in our community is an ongoing program to bring Bible study and visits with devotion time and refreshments.

Our men are involved in Habitat for Humanity and Volunteers for Christ by working on construction projects.

Involvement with disaster relief in the United States, working through projects with Vessels of Mercy and Overseas Mission Opportunities, Water for the Oppressed and   AIDS Education are ongoing projects that have been very effective with many of our congregation traveling the globe.

Many of our various children’s classes promote mission programs of their own.  We believe our children learn by doing!

Our Women’s Missionary Union has mission action activities that are in constant service during the year and these opportunities are open to all members of the church.

The four major offerings taken during the year are International, North America, Virginia and Concord Association which is housed in South Hill, Virginia.
