Who We Are

Founded in 1879, we've always existed to worship God, teach the Bible, care for one another and share the good news of Jesus Christ to everyone with our acts of love and words of truth.

Our Passion

Multigenerational

We are very fortunate to have a nursery and a senior's ministry and everything in between. The most obvious way we are multigenerational is having two worship services with distinct styles. Our 9 am service has traditional music and our 11 am contemporary music. Each service also has elements that complement the music style. Another example of being intentionally multigenerational is our strong commitment to youth and children's ministry

Excellence

Excellence is doing our best with what God has given us. We never want to settle for the attitude "that's good enough for church." We will use our resources, start ministries, improve our methods, or whatever it takes to do things well so that more people will come to faith and grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. The word excellence reminds us to do everything in word and deed for the glory of God!

Presence

Since God showed His love through His presence (John 1:14), and God commands us to be present among each other (Hebrews 10:24, 25), and unbelievers (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20), we are committed to being present in people's lives to show and teach them the love of Christ. We believe love is shown by our presence!

Our Purpose

We, the members of Olive Branch Baptist Church, believers in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the love of God do commit ourselves to:

Being active in worship, prayer, fellowship and Christian growth.
Proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the way to eternal life.
Being active witnesses through our lifestyles to all persons.
Being aware of the needs of our community and to ministering to those needs through local and world missions.

Our Partners

We cannot complete the mission God has given us alone.
So, we partner with other Baptist churches to accomplish more for God's kingdom.

Nationally we cooperate with the 50,000 Baptist churches of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC).

In Virginia, we partner with the 1,400 Baptist churches of the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV).

Locally we partner with the 30 Southern Baptist churches of the Concord Baptist Association (CBA).
