Pray

Jesus said to pray for God to send out workers (Luke 10:2). It's also important to pray for those serving the Lord in missions (Ephesians 6:19, 20). Below are some resources to help you pray.
Operation World gives information about each country of the world so you can pray specifically for the nations. You can receive daily reminders to pray by going to their WEBSITE or downloading their app.
READ how you can better pray for missionaries. This page is produced by Wycliffe Bible Translators who translate the Bible to languages for people that don't yet have Bibles in their own language.

Give

OBBC gives annually to various missionary offerings to support national and international ministries that are sharing the Word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. When a special offering is being collected you can give ONLINE to Olive Branch and designate your gift to the appropriate offering. You can give at anytime by choosing the "Learn More" button for the specific offering.
Each May we collect an offering for our local Baptist association, the Concord Baptist Association. This offering supports local outreach efforts in our local community.
The Lottie Moon offering is collected to support Southern Baptist missionaries who serve in countries around the world. It is collected each Christmas.
The Gideons are a group of professional business men who place Bibles in many places around the world. OBBC emphasizes giving to them at Christmas and on Gideon speaker Sunday.
The Annie Armstrong offering is collected to support Southern Baptist missionaries who serve in North American. It is collected each Easter.
The Alma Hunt offering is collected to support many ministries of the BGAV in Virginia. The WMU of Virginia is the sponsor of this offering. It is collected each September.

Women on Mission

The ladies of Women on Mission learn about missionaries and the work they are doing all around the world. Some of the many projects Women on Mission work on include making dolls for children who have had surgery in Kenya, making blankets for dialysis patients, sewing dresses and shorts for children, and collecting items for local ministries. They also oversee a food pantry that has helped many families during difficult times.
Women on Mission meet on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm at the church.

Thanksgiving Luncheon

On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Olive Branch reaches out to the residents of our local Adult Homes, and Adult Daycare Facilities. We invite them to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at our Christian Life Center. We also have a program after the meal of Christian songs and Christmas music.

Acts of Random Kindness (ARK)

Through out the year,  Olive Branch loves on the community by doing acts of kindness. As we serve our community,  we want them to know Jesus loves them and so do we. Projects have included construction, feeding residents at Adult Homes, singing at nursing homes, washing windshields at a gas station, taking lunch to police officers, sewing projects, and much more.

Impact Mission Camps

Impact Mission Camps is a week long youth mission and construction trip in the state of Virginia each summer.  Youth spend the week repairing homes in poorer neighborhoods. In addition to the work they do, they enjoy worship and Bible study each day, and have an afternoon off during the week to participate in a fun activity. Olive Branch has traveled in recent years to Bluefield, Danville, Chester, Alexandria, Culpeper, and the Eastern Shore. Most recently Olive Branch served in our own Mecklenburg County. The destination is usually announced at church in January.
For specific information or questions about Impact Mecklenburg 2023, please contact Mikayla Barnes at the Concord Baptist Association Office at 434-447-7240.
